Apple’s MacBook Air 13-inch is not anything like the old one! It is incredible. It is incredibly sleek, durable, thin and powerful. It weighs 1.5 pounds lighter than its beefier brother and packs in enough horsepower to be your primary computer. Although it is incredibly light and thin, its large battery power gives you portable power that lasts for hour. It is designed around all-flash storage for better responsiveness and reliability. Its design and simplicity splits the tech world straight down the middle.
Design
Macbook Air 13-inch is implausibly thin. It is 325mm wide, 227mm high and 3mm thick at its thinnest point and 17mm at the thickest. It is quite rigid and stiff and doesn’t feel breakable at all. The laptop is million miles from heavy, weighing in at just 1.32kg. Apple achieved the weight loss by shunning the conventional hard drive enclosure and putting the flash memory chips right on the board. Usually, flash storage is housed in a package that is the same size as traditional hard drive. Yet it occupies a very small portion of that housing and frees up about 90 percent more space
The keyboard is amazingly comfortable, with a generous space between each individual key to cut down on accidental mistyping’s. The trackpad is sensationally sensitive, impressively large and all your favorite multi-touch functions are of course possible. It is actually a greatest advantage; you will never see a laptop with a better trackpad. Macbook Air 13-inch is equipped with NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics processor with 256MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory. It has a higher 1400 by 900 resolutions; the more pixels you pack into a screen, the more stunning HD movies, videos and photos look.
The external housing of Macbook Air 13-inch is composed of recyclable aluminum and matches the MacBook Pro line in terms of aesthetics. On the top, you will see an Apple logo that lights up when powered on. The left side of the laptop houses the USB 2.0 port, power connector, Omni-directional microphone and headphone mini-jack. While on the right side of the machine is a Mini Display port connector, USB port and SD slot. On the bottom you will find four black rubbery feet, which raise the machine off the resting surface a few millimeters keeping the underneath aluminum from getting scratched up.
